Pretoria - The Portfolio Committee on Higher Education and Training will on Tuesday pay an oversight visit to the North West University (NWU) to discuss, among others, issues of transformation at the institution.

The South African Parliament said members of the committee will hold a meeting with the NWU Council, the institution’s management, Student Representative Council and other stakeholders, at the university’s Potchefstroom campus.

“The committee, led by chairperson Yvonne Phosa, will have a discussion with the stakeholders in attendance, over transformation and its implementation at the institution,” Parliament said on Monday.

Representatives from both the Department of Higher Education and Training and the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) are expected to attend the meeting, as well as organised labour representatives.

Parliament said the Committee will later on meet with the Vuselela TVET College on the same day. - SAnews.gov.za
