Pres Zuma in Tanzania ahead of peace talks

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has arrived in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, where he will hold talks with his counterpart President Jakaya Kikwete.

This visit, according to the Presidency, is within the context of consolidating the African Agenda through the enhancement and deepening of bilateral political, economic and social relations.

After the meeting with President Kikwete, President Zuma will proceed to Kampala, Uganda, for talks with President Yoweri Museveni.

“The consultations and discussions with the two Heads of State are a follow up to the visit to South Africa recently by President Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan and are aimed at taking forward the peace process in South Sudan,” the Presidency said on Monday.

President Zuma is accompanied by the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Maite Nkoana Mashabane, and the Minister of State Security, David Mahlobo. – SAnews.gov.za
