President Zuma to attend Jazz Fest

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma is expected to attend the 16th Cape Town International Jazz Festival this evening, where performances will include Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Sipho “hostix” Mabuse, among others.

The festival is held annually in Cape Town and brings together both local and international artists as well as thousands of music enthusiasts who come to support the country’s arts and culture.

Referred to as “Africa’s Grandest Gathering” the festical is the largest music event in sub-Saharan Africa and is famous for delivering a star-studded line up.

Boasts five stages and over 40 artists performing over two nights, the programming is made up of a 50/50 split between South African artists and international artists respectively.

The festival hosts in excess of 37 000 music lovers over the two show days.

Ringo Madlingozi, Hugh Masekela, Oliver Mtukudzi and Thundercat, along with Victor Masondo & Friends featuring Thembi Mtshali, Sons of Kemet from the UK and many more will perform on Saturday night. – SAnews.gov.za
