Vote of no confidence passed against two SABC board members

Pretoria - Communications Minister Faith Muthambi says she supports and respects the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board decision to pass a vote of no confidence against two non-executive directors.

The board on Thursday passed a vote of no confidence against non-executive directors Mashangu Ronny Lubisi and Rachel Kalidass.

In a statement released on Friday, Minister Muthambi’s spokesperson Ayanda Holo said the Minister has received and confirmed the resolutions of the special board meeting held on 26 March by the SABC board.

“The SABC board resolutions confirmed the vote of no confidence passed against the Mr M R Lubisi and Ms R Kalidass.

“The Minister supports and respects the decision of the SABC board as it is within their delegation provided for in terms of section 71 (3) of the Companies Act no. 71 of 2008,” Holo said. - SAnews.gov.za
