Pretoria - Skills shortage and improving education are some of the items business anticipates in President Jacob Zuma's State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday.
The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) on Tuesday said it was looking forward to clarity of policy direction and implementation on government's programmes to support and develop SMMEs.
The creation of a nurturing business environment and new strategies to address corruption as well as measures to reduce red tape for business are also some of the matters industry is looking forward to hearing more on.
"Further clarity is needed with regards to progress on land reform, the green economy strategy (especially in the context of South Africa's hosting of COP 17) and on the current policy thinking in respect of National Health Insurance," said SACCI CEO Naren Rau.
The SONA will be delivered to both the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces in Parliament at 7pm, to allow South Africans to watch the broadcast.
