Pretoria - Thrilled Brazilian fans have warned their stars not to underestimate Bafana Bafana as the two sides meet at the Confederations Cup semi-finals on Thursday at Ellis Park.
Speaking to BuaNews on Sunday evening, after Brazil outshined Italy 3-0, at the Loftus Stadium in Pretoria, Emanuel Pita said Brazil must be wary of Bafana Bafana as they have improved their game and are slowly becoming a threat in the international soccer fraternity.
"They are a good side with a good coach and brilliant players. We need not to underrate them because they can surprise us in front of their passionate fans.
"Bafana Bafana played good football against Iraq, Spain and New Zealand. They have shown their intentions but they must also find a way of stopping Kaka and Robinho," said Mr Pita.
His sentiments were shared by South African based Brazilian, Camilla Benito, who affirmed that it was going to be a tough match for both sides.
"South Africans are good and Brazilians are also good. So this game will be unpredictable and anyone can win it. This is the game of football; maybe Bafana Bafana can surprise the world," she said.
Bafana Bafana finished second in Group A, while the Samba Kings finished at the top of Group B in good style, outclassing the feared world champions 3-0 in front of thousands of fans last night.
The soccer enthusiasts, wearing their teams' colours, came in their numbers to cheer their respective teams and as usual vuvuzelas were the sound of the night.
It was indeed a match of old rivals as the stadium was fully packed and the atmosphere among the fans was absolutely fascinating and the match itself was magnificent with superb goals.
Female fans could not stop screaming when Brazilian star Kaka or the Azzuri's Captain Fabio Cannavaro had possession of the ball.
Some fans held gigantic banners saying "I love Kaka" and others saying "We are the world victors!".
The overall atmosphere, the enthusiasm of players and the reaction of fans, reminded some of the 1994 Soccer World Cup final, where Brazil defeated Italy in a penalty kick-off.
It was breathtaking when Brazilian goal poacher Louis Fabiano scored two goals in the first half, however drama unfolded when the Azzuri's defender, Andrea Dossena scored an own goal.
As thousands of fans enjoyed the match, hundreds of law enforcement officials and stewards were alertly monitoring the crowd to ensure that everything went on smoothly, with police choppers flying over the stadium until the end of the match.
