Pretoria - Brazil's 3-nil win over the United States at Loftus Versfeld, on Thursday has ensured that the team enters the next group of matches.
Their win moved the defending champions to first place in the group, known as the 'death group', with six points from two matches. It also put them in good stead to qualify for the semi-finals.
The Brazilians did not give their opponents time to breathe or study their game plan, despite the US' aggressive approach to the game.
The brilliant combination and moves of attacking wingback Maicon, attacking midfielder Ramires and two strikers Kaka and Robinho, forced the US to commit dangerous tackles less than 30 metres from the box.
A free-kick by Maicon, 26 metres from the box, saw attacking midfielder, Felipe Melo scoring Brazil's first goal with a cracking header in the 7th minute.
A counter attack started by Kaka in the 20th minute made matters worse for the US team and Robinho scored another goal to clinch a 2-0 score before the break.
The superb move between Kaka and Ramires ensured that Maicon was able to seal the 3-0 score in the 60th minute for Brazil.
Everton and US goalkeeper, Tim Howard, was unable to stop the angled rocket unleashed by the Brazilian wingback, Maicon.
Brazilian coach, Dunga, seemed to save the team's energy for their last difficult match against Italy on Sunday at the same venue in the second half. He replaced Kaka, Maicon and Fabiano by Julio Baptista, Nilmar and Luisao.
Their aggressive approach paid off badly for the Americans when Sacha Kljestan fouled Ramires with a career threatening tackle. The referee, Massimo Busacca did not hesitate to give the US midfielder a red card.
This was the team's second red card as Ricardo Clark received one on Monday during their first encounter with Italy.
The Americans lost the match 3-1 even though they were the first to score through a penalty.
The Egyptian historic 1-0 victory against the World Cup defending champions, Italy, at Coca-Cola Park made Africa proud.
The Pharaohs started the game brightly and five minutes into the second half, Mohamed Homos scored a crucial goal for the 2008 African Nations Cup champions.
However, Egypt veteran goal keeper emerged as the team's hero following his brilliant saves.
On several occasions, he denied Italian strikers including Giuseppe Rosi an opportunity to equalise.
For the Egyptian to qualify to the semi-finals, they need to crush the US national team with more goals when the two clash on Sunday.
