Pretoria - It's the final week of the matric exams for thousands of Grade 12 learners from across the country.
Today, many Grade 12 learners will be writing English Paper 3, which will be their final paper, while on Tuesday learners will write Agricultural Science Paper 2, Nautical Science Paper 2 and Tourism.
On Wednesday, learners will write Engineering Graphics and Design Paper 1 and Music Paper 2 Comprehension.
Mathematics Paper 3 and Hospitality Studies will be written on Thursday, while the last papers on Friday will be Engineering Graphics and Design Paper 2 and Religion Studies Paper 2.
However, the hard work is still to start for those marking the examination papers. Marking will commence on 7 December and is expected to be concluded on 16 December.
All marking centres have sufficient marking rooms with locking doors for the security of the answer scripts during the day and at night.
The capturing will be concluded on 19 December and clearance will be given to marking centres on the 21 December for scripts to be collected.
This year's matric results will be released on 7 January 2010, instead of December, to allow more time to verify and check all results before they are released.
This year's exams saw a few glitches. There were isolated problems including with the Physical Science paper in Gauteng, while several people were arrested following a leak of some papers in Mpumalanga.
