Pretoria - The Gauteng Provincial Government, civil society groups and municipalities will put their heads together on Wednesday to discuss ways on how to deal with corruption swiftly and effectively.
An Anti-Corruption Summit will bring these sectors together, where they are expected to put together a holistic approach in the fight against corruption in the province.
Partnerships were essential in the fight against corruption because it was a problem that affected society and not just government, the Gauteng Provincial Government said.
"Accordingly, the successful fight against the scourge of corruption will be highly dependent on better working relations between all stakeholders," it added.
The summit aims to develop a common plan and social mobilisation against corruption involving government, labour, business and other civil society sectors.
It will also attempt to forge a social compact or integrity alliance in the fight against corruption, fraud and unethical behaviour, and in building an ethical society
Other objectives of the summit are to share knowledge, experiences, strategies and best practice in the fight against corruption and to launch the Gauteng Anti-Corruption Strategic Framework.
