Pretoria - Doctors will be paid their Occupational Specific Dispensation (OSD) money today, says the Department of Health.
"Doctors will be paid their OSD and they will receive their money in their bank accounts today," said health spokesperson Charity Bhengu.
The balance of the payment will be made on 24 December.
The department acknowledged that there has been a delay in the payment to the doctors as agreed.
The department said it was unaware of the non-payment of a 5 percent gratuity. The records indicate that this has been paid, said Bhengu.
Earlier this year, doctors across the country embarked on an illegal strike demanding the implementation of OSD which is an adjustment of salary grades for public servants.
