Pretoria - The Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality's crematorium which was supposed to have been used for the cremation of former Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang has been reopened.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the council said that the crematorium, located in Rebecca Street, Pretoria West, could now be used by the public.
This comes after permission for the city to operate the crematorium was issued by the national Department of Environmental Affairs on Monday.
"Receipt of the permission means that the public can now use the facility. This follows the promise made to the public on Sunday that the facility will be open to the public, after the two furnaces within the facility were repaired between July and December 2009," said the council.
