Pretoria - Learners in the Western Cape will soon have a booklet with tips to help them prepare for their matric exams.
Launched on Monday by Provincial Education MEC Donald Grant, the Tips for Success booklet provides learners with information on how to plan their revision programme and how to study and remember what they have studied.
"It provides subject specific study guides and tips, motivations from learners from previous years that have succeeded, information on how to obtain bursaries and a copy of the final National Senior Certificate exam timetable," Grant said.
Handing over the booklets at Manyano High School, Grant said that with only 195 days to go before the National Senior Certificate examinations, the department wants to ensure that all learners schedule their time properly and allocate enough time for their studies.
"The first tip to success is time management through proper planning. We believe in the class of 2010 and we are fully behind you every step of the way.
"But ultimately, it is up to each and every one of you to now own your future and success, to do this, you must all study hard to pass your matric," Grant told learners.
While showing a decline in its 2008 matric pass rate, the Western Cape performed the best overall with 75.7 percent in 2009.
