Pretoria - An Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC), headed by Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe will soon table a report to Cabinet on the country's hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the Presidency said.
The committee, which met in Cape Town on Tuesday, has received presentations from various government departments on their draft close-out reports, focusing on observations and lessons learnt during the tournament.
The meeting had also noted that all guarantees agreed on by government had been honoured.
"The intention of the report is to document the legacy of the tournament and the implementation of lessons learnt from the hosting of the tournament and also how government co-ordinate its efforts to deliver services needed for the successful hosting of the event," the Presidency said.
The lessons learnt will also seek to guide government towards the achievement of its five priorities and outcomes as part of the government programme of action. The IMC is expected to have concluded the report by October.
