Pretoria - The United States soccer team can expect about 350 cheerleaders during their training session in Pretoria West on Sunday (6 June).
The hundreds of children, together with their caregivers from a number of community partnership projects, will be the special guests at the team's open practice session at the Pilditch Stadium.
After a 90-minute workout, the US team will spend time with the children and sign autographs.
Both the players and the coaches were thrilled that they would get the opportunity to interact with the children.
"It is one of the great privileges of representing your country with the US national team that you have the opportunity to have an impact on the lives of young people. The players and coaches are looking forward to sharing a special day with these deserving kids," US coach Bob Bradley said.
For security reasons the practice session will not be open to the public.
The 23-man US squad squares off against England in its first 2010 World Cup game on 12 June in Rustenburg.
