Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma on Thursday appointed judges to fill vacancies in the country's courts.
The judges will fill vacancies in the Supreme Court of Appeal, Eastern Cape High Court, Northern Cape High Court, North and South Gauteng High Courts.
The judges are: Xola Mlungisi Petse, who has been appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal with effect from 1 June; Ronnie Pillay as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal, and Dunstan Mlambo, as a Judge President of the North and South Gauteng High Courts, with effect from 01 November.
Advocate Selby Baqwa SC was appointed as a Judge of the North Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, along with Elizabeth Mamoloko Kubushi, while Bashier Vally SC has been appointed to the South Gauteng High Court. The three will start work with immediate effect.
For the Eastern Cape, Zolani Dukada was appointed as judge of the Eastern Cape High Court in Bhisho, with effect from 1 July, while Bulelwa Myra Pakati was appointed as a Judge of the Northern Cape High Court, with immediate effect.
President Zuma has congratulated the appointed judges and wished them well in exercising their judicial duties.
