Bronkhorstspruit - The Nan Hua Temple in Bronkhorstspruit will be celebrating the start of the Chinese New Year on 25 January.
Event organiser at the temple, Vivian Koo, said that the Chinese will be ushering in the year 4707, which is known as the Year of the Ox or Yi Chou.
"We sincerely hope that as many South Africans of all cultures and all walks of life will come and celebrate with us," said Ms Koo.
Entrance to the celebration will be free and include fireworks, a fashion show, dragon dancing, a tea ceremony, a flea market and Chinese food stalls.
The main attraction is the Buddhist temple, which is being used as a spiritual home for the Chinese community in the area and to train monks from across Africa.
The temple also provides wheelchairs, food and clothing to various organisations for people with disabilities and the aged, and also provides emotional support to those in need.
The celebrations will start at 10am and end at 3pm. For more information call Ms Koo on 082 5814 137
