Water disruption at hospital receives attention

Pretoria - The Gauteng Department of Health has assured that the water supply shortage at Natalspruit Hospital is receiving urgent attention.

The water supply shortage which affected mainly the theatres was caused by a burst pipe outside the hospital.

“Hospital management immediately informed the Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) about the problem. Officials from DID with the assistance of municipality officials are currently on site attending to the problem,” the department said.

Urgent theatre cases have been diverted to neighbouring hospitals.

Staff at the hospital said there were no major disruptions during the time and service delivery as well as patient care was not compromised. – SAnews.gov.za
