Pretoria - Cabinet has condemned in the strongest terms the sabotage to the electricity grid during an illegal strike that resulted in power outages in parts of Johannesburg.
“Such acts at the time when the country is moving towards stabilising its electricity supply cannot be ignored and must be dealt with to the full extent of the law,” said Cabinet in a statement released after its regular meeting.
Earlier this month, disgruntled workers reportedly cut off electricity supply to most parts of Johannesburg, in protest to the new shift system mooted by management in the City of Johannesburg.
Power has since been restored to all the affected areas in Johannesburg. – SAnews.gov.za
