Pretoria - Communications Minister Dina Pule introduced recently appointed SABC CEO Lulama Mokhobo to staff at the public broadcaster on Wednesday.
Pule met with staff and unions at the SABC's headquarters in Auckland Park where she introduced the new executive.
The minister stressed that a stable leadership was vital to SABC's turnaround strategy.
Unions welcomed Mokhobo's appointment and urged her to ensure that the SABC carried out its mandate effectively.
At the time of her appointment, the Department of Communications said Mokhobo had the relevant qualifications, skills, capabilities and experience required for the position, including leadership experience in the private and public sector.
She was previously SABC Group Executive for Public Broadcasting Services.
