Official funeral for Bam

Pretoria - The late Judge President of the Land Claims Court, Fikile Bam, will be honoured with a special official funeral, the Presidency said on Thursday.

The Official Funeral Category II is reserved for distinguished persons in society.

"The Presidency has also declared a period of National Days of Mourning as from Friday, 23 December 2011 until the evening of the burial or cremation. All national flags will fly at half-mast at all flag stations in the country until the evening of burial or cremation."

Bam passed away on Sunday at the age of 74 after a battle with lung cancer. The funeral will be held on 27 December 2011 in Tsolo in the Eastern Cape.
