Sacci wishes SA well ahead of elections

Monday, May 5, 2014

Pretoria - As South Africans head to the polls to vote in the fifth democratic elections, the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Sacci) has expressed its best wishes to both political parties and voters.

“Sacci offers its best wishes for the 2014 elections to all political parties involved and most importantly, the voters. Let our votes reflect our desire for a more prosperous future for all South Africans, “Sacci chief executive officer Neren Rau.

Sacci said as South Africans head to the polls, they should do so in a spirit that has brought the country to where it is now, as it celebrates 20 years of freedom.

“Although we have achieved much, more is to be done and can only be achieved through partnership between government, business and labour. Sacci also wishes to thank all of the volunteers at the voting stations in advance for their selfless contribution to the democratic process, and hopes the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) can again ensure a smooth process,” said Rau.

Voting stations will open to the public on Wednesday at 7am and close at 9pm. Today and tomorrow, special votes will be cast. – SAnews.gov.za
