Pretoria - With only four weeks to go until the final matric examinations, the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, is expected to unveil a detailed report on the state of readiness for the all-important exams.
The report, to be released tomorrow during a media briefing, will cover the state of each province, number of delegates enrolled for the 2011 examinations, the security arrangements around the examination as well as the dates in which marking will resume and the release of the results in 2012.
Motshekga will also share with the media matters that are on the agenda of the Council of Ministers Meeting, including:
* The Teacher Laptop Initiative and the new proposed strategy
* Teacher Development Implementation in priority areas
* Progress report on the Development of Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements for all subjects listed in the National Curriculum Statement Grade R - 12.
* Readiness for the School Sport Launch.
