Pretoria - Motorists will have to dig even deeper into their pockets next month as the petrol price is set to rise by between 36 and 37 cents a litre.
The price of 93 ULP will rise by 37 cents while that of 95 ULP will increase by 36 cents a litre, the Energy Department said on Friday.
A litre of Diesel 0.05% Sulphur is also set to increase by 35 and that of Diesel 0.005% Sulphur will rise by 37 cents.
The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin is set to increase by 30 cents and the single maximum national retail price for illuminating paraffin will increase by 40 cents a litre.
The Maximum Retail Price for LPGAS will increase by 62 cents.
A litre of petrol will cost R10.54 cents in Gauteng and R10.24 in the coast when the prices come into effect next Wednesday.
Although the average international product prices for petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin decreased during the period under review, the deterioration of the Rand against the US Dollar increased the contribution to the Basic Fuels Price on petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin by 40.36 cents a litre, 41.94 cents a litre and 41.25 cents a litre respectively.
