Durban - Jacques Kallis and Hashim Amla have been nominated in three categories each in the 2011 South African Cricket Awards.
Both players are vying for the prestigious SA Cricketer of the Year, which will be announced at Gallagher Estate in Midrand on June 7.
Kallis has been nominated in the categories of SA Cricketer of the Year, Castle Test Cricketer of the Year and KFC So Good Award.
The Proteas all-rounder put on quite a batting spectacle when he notched up centuries in the Test match against India at Sahara Park Newlands in January.
Amla has been nominated as SA Cricketer of the Year, Test Cricketer of the Year and Standard Bank One-Day International Cricketer of the Year.
Imran Tahir has also received three nominations, including the SA Newcomer of the Year.
Tahir silenced critics with his top notch performances at the recent cricket World Cup in India. He proved devastating on debut by taking four wickets for 41 runs in 10 overs against the West Indies.
His other two nominations are in the Professional Awards: Domestic section for SuperSport Series Cricketer of the Year and MTN40 Cricketer of the Year.
Last year, Amla was voted SA Cricketer of the Year and took a few other awards. Kallis was named SA Cricketer of the Year in 2004.
