Pretoria - Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe believes South Africa will make the country proud at the Homeless World Cup in Paris, France.
A former soccer player himself, Motlanthe said South Africa was delighted and wished the team, which departs from South Africa today, well in their endeavour to win.
"We have confidence that they will do well in the tournament to be held between 19 and 29 August 2011. We encourage them to fly the South African flag high. We know that you will do South Africa proud," Motlanthe.
The Homeless World Cup is a unique, pioneering social enterprise which exists to end homelessness. It uses football to energise homeless people to change their own lives.
