Police spokesman Colonel Vish Naidoo said police initially raided a house in Bryanston on Wednesday, where they discovered Mandrax powder to the value of about R50 million and equipment used for the manufacture of Mandrax tablets.
A 36-year-old man and his 38-year-old wife were arrested.
The second bust took place on a Douglasdale property which is believed to belong to the couple.
"About R50 million worth of actual Mandrax tablets and equipment was recovered. A 30-year-old man, his 28-year-old wife and their domestic worker were arrested.
All five suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
