Pretoria - The remains of South African Air Force (SAAF) members, who died in the Dakota C-47 accident on 5 December, will be handed over to their next-of-kin on Wednesday.
The Defence Department said the handing over of the remains will be preceded by the customary Military Mortal Remains Ceremony at Waterkloof Air Force Base. Following the ceremony, the rest of the remains of those who perished in the crash will be transported to their home bases.
The SAAF members were among 11 people who died when a military aircraft crashed in the Drakensberg near Ladysmith two weeks ago.
On board the aircraft was a crew of six and five passengers. A board of inquiry has since been convened to investigate the circumstances surrounding the cause of the accident.
