Minister shocked by untimely death of Scott

Pretoria - Science and Technology Minister Naledi Pandor has expressed shock and sadness at the passing away of Christina Scott, one of South Africa's top science journalists.

Scott died in a car accident in Cape Town yesterday morning.

Pandor offered her deepest condolences to Scott's family, friends and colleagues.

"Ms Scott was a good friend of science and, as the host of the weekly Science Matters programme on SAfm ... she did a great deal to help my department in popularising science," Pandor said.

Scott was a President of the SA Journalists' Association.
