Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has, on behalf of the government and people of South Africa, issued a message of condolence to the Kingdom of Thailand following severe flooding that has ravaged the country.
In a statement, the President said: "At this moment of pain and suffering, in particular in the case of those who have lost loved ones, please be assured that the Government and people of South Africa share in your sorrow.
"We know that the resilience of the Thai people, which has seen them through very difficult times in the past, will help them to also overcome this loss."
Since July, many have lost their lives, hundreds of thousands have been displaced and there has been large-scale destruction of property and livelihood in the wake of the heavy monsoon rains, floods and mudslides in 28 of the Kingdom's 77 provinces.
