NW agriculture colleges set for new academic year registration

Preparations are underway for the registration of first-year and returning students at agriculture colleges in the North West.

The North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said the Potchefstroom College of Agriculture and Taung Agricultural College are gearing up to commence the 2025 academic year, with both institutions set to reopen on 13 January 2025.

Registration for first-year students at Potchefstroom College of Agriculture will be held on 20 and 21 January 2025, and registrations for second and third year students will be held on 22 January 2025.

At the Taung Agricultural College, registrations for first-year students will be held on 20 - 21 January 2025, while registrations for returning students will be take place on 15 and 16 January 2025.

The North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development spokesperson, Emelda Setlhako, urged prospective students to adhere to the registration dates and ensure that all required documentation is ready and complete on the day.

“Qualifying late or walk-in applications will only be considered subject to space availability during the registration period. Those interested in studying at the colleges are encouraged to apply during the next application window later in the year.

“Students requiring on-campus accommodation are advised that there is limited accommodation space and alternative accommodation arrangements should be made. Early planning is strongly encouraged to secure a spot,” Setlhako said.
