Kempton Park testing centre gets back online

Monday, February 14, 2011

Pretoria - The Kempton Park driver's licence testing centre is expected to be fully operational by Tuesday morning, said the municipality.

The testing centre's E-Natis system is expected to be working following a lightning incident last Wednesday. Licence renewals and the booking of learner's and driver's tests, as well as vehicle testing were also affected as a result.

"This, however, did not have an effect on the learner's and driver's licences already booked for testing," municipal spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said on Monday.

During the downtime, applicants who passed their tests were issued their learner's and driver's licences through a temporary portal set up by the municipality.

Electricity supply to the offices has already been restored and technicians are currently replacing and fixing computers that were affected.
