Pretoria - As Members of Parliament, political leaders and dignitaries gather in Cape Town ahead of the State of the Nation Address, people in informal settlements across Gauteng will be able to see the event for themselves on big screens.
In Johannesburg, a big screen will be set up at plot number 4, Muldersdrift Thusong Service Centre as well as at Rietfontein village, Muldersdrift. In Pretoria, a big screen will be put at the Multi Purpose Centre, Lesedi Street in Nelmapius.
Other viewing areas in Gauteng include Katlehong, Tembisa, Ivory Park, Orange Farm, Joubert Park, Kwa-Thema, Sebokeng, Lenasia as well as Nokeng tsa Taemane.
The State of the Nation Address will also be screened on Township TV. Township TV is a social responsibility initiative used daily to help educate, entertain and uplift the communities.
The project was born from a partnership between Johannesburg City Parks and Township TV and the first permanent big screen TV went up in Diepsloot in 2007.
However, South Africans can also listen to the President's State of the Nation address on their preferred SABC radio stations or watch it live on SABC 2 or e.tv at 7pm.
