Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has accepted the resignations of four members of the SABC Board.

According to the Presidency, Zuma received the resignations of the board's deputy chairperson Felleng Sekha and board members Barbara Masekela, David Niddrie and Makgatho Mello from the Department of Communications.

Zuma thanked the former board members for the role they played in the SABC and wished them well in the future.

The 12-member SABC Board was appointed by Zuma in December 2009 and took over the reins from the interim board chaired by Irene Charnley in January 2010.

That interim board was appointed after the previous board was dissolved in 2009, following a Parliamentary inquiry into it.
