Pretoria - The parliamentary precinct in Cape Town is abuzz with final preparations ahead of President Jacob Zuma's State of the Nation Address (SONA).
The President will address a Joint Sitting of Parliament on Thursday at 7pm. The address will be broadcast live on SABC and eTV. Big screens will be set up in rural communities to ensure they are also able to watch the President's speech.
Economic transformation and the delivery of basic services are expected to feature highly in the address, as well as government's five priorities of health, fighting crime, education, jobs and rural development.
The opening of Parliament is always a glitzy affair, with ministers, diplomats, the business fraternity, political leaders and more dressing up for the occasion.
On Wednesday, Zuma will spend the day resting and putting final touches to his speech.
