Pretoria - Eskom has restored power to all customers in KwaZulu-Natal that had no electricity as a result of severe weather conditions.
"Eskom has restored power to all of the customers in KwaZulu-Natal who were affected when severe weather conditions damaged power lines in the provinces last week. We apologise to all the customers concerned," it said in a State of the Electricity System update on Thursday.
On Monday, the parastatal said that about 3 000 customers were still without power in areas including Cedarville, Gowry, Rainbow Lakes and Nottingham Road due to weather-related faults on local distribution networks.
The power parastatal urged all customers to use electricity sparingly as well as to switch off all non-essential appliances, especially during the evening peak hours between 5pm and 9pm.
On Friday peak demand is forecast at 31 824 MW; Saturday, 30 836 MW; Sunday, 33 631 MW and on Monday at 33 459 MW.
