Pretoria - Soccer fans in Tshwane and Ekurhuleni will be glad to know that the World Cup Trophy is coming their way.
Fans will have a rare opportunity to see the iconic piece of gold when it makes its final tour in Gauteng as part of the Coca-Cola World Cup Trophy Tour in South Africa, which began on 4 May.
The aim is to get every village, town and township ready for the greatest show on earth and make sure every South African feels part of the World Cup.
The trophy will be on display in Tshwane on 29 May at Mamelodi Town Hall while residents in the inner city can catch a glimpse of the trophy on 31 May at the City Hall. Tshwane University of Technology (Soshanguve campus) will mark the city's final stop for the trophy tour on 2 June.
Ekurhuleni residents will be able to see the trophy on display in Rabasotho Hall, Thembisa on Sunday 30 May.
The trophy has toured throughout the country touching down in 38 cities and towns across all nine provinces. Former President Nelson Mandela was the first to touch it when he welcomed the trophy to South Africa on 15 May.
