Pretoria-The South African Football Association (Safa) has suspended Bafana Bafana's team manager, Sipho Nkumane barely a month before the kick-off of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Nkumane was suspended along with Safa's commercial director, Victor Nosi, pending the outcome of disciplinary proceedings that will consider allegations leveled against them.
"It must be emphasised that at this stage, it is only allegations that have been leveled against Nkumane and Nosi and any decisions as to whether these allegations are true or not will be left to external independent parties to determine," said Safa..
Dennis Mumble has been appointed acting team manager.
Nkumane is no stranger to controversy; when the team travelled to its training camp in Brazil in March, Nkumane was barred from getting on the plane and was told by Safa chief executive officer Leslie Sedibe, to "get his act together".
Nkumane also allegedly failed to present budgets for the team's training camps in Brazil, Germany and Johannesburg
