Pretoria - The chances are slim, but there is still hope for Bafana Bafana, and CEO of the Local Organising Committee, Danny Jordaan, paid a special visit to the national squad to tell them just that and wish them well ahead of their match against France.
Bafana Bafana take on France on Tuesday and fans are hoping they will improve from their disappointing 3-nil loss against Uruguay.
In a private meeting with the team at their hotel on Sunday, Jordaan told the players they should be proud and hold their heads up high ahead of the crucial clash.
"What happens in Tuesday's match is what this country will remember. You must not dwell on what happened before," said Jordaan.
Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, also told the players to be proud of their achievements thus far. "You should be very proud of what you have already achieved and you must keep your heads up. History will talk about this game," Parreira told the team.
Jordan also thanked the team for their contribution to the tournament.
"I must thank you for what is happening in this country right now. I know you might not have seen all of it but the spirit in this country is amazing ...There is such an incredible atmosphere in this country and you must feel very proud about being a part of that," he told them.
It's pride that's at stake for nation and the team is well aware of that.
Captain Aaron Mokoena said the team was 100 percent committed ahead of Tuesday's match. "We are going to go there and give nothing but our best against France."
