Pretoria - As former President Nelson Mandela spends his third day in hospital, the African National Congress (ANC) said it will continue to pray for his recovery and call on all South Africans to do the same.
According to the Presidency the health condition of the 94-year-old statesman has not changed since he was admitted in the early hours of Saturday after suffering from a recurring lung infection.
President Jacob Zuma has also reiterated his call for South Africa to pray for Madiba and the family during this time.
South Africans from all walks of life joined in prayer on Sunday wishing Madiba a speedy recovery.
“We appreciate the good work that is done by his medical team,” said ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu.
Mthembu requested the media to give the Mandela family the privacy and respect they deserve at this time. – SAnews.gov.za
