Pretoria - Bafana Bafana head coach Gordon Igesund has been admitted to hospital for severe abdominal pains.

Head of communications at the South African Football Association (Safa), Dominic Chimhavi - who could not specify the hospital where the Bafana coach is receiving medical treatment - said the coach was admitted on Tuesday.

Dr Ephraim Nematswerani, who is attending to the coach, said initial tests showed that Igesund might be suffering from appendicitis.

“Thorough and further investigations are being carried out to confirm the diagnosis. We are however, confident that he will be back on his feet soon. It is nothing too serious,” said Nematswerani. - SAnews.gov.za
