Pretoria - Bafana Bafana have dropped four places oin the latest FIFA World Rankings, released on Wednesday.
South Africa is now ranked joint 56th with Cameroon in the world. However, in the continent, the Pitso Mosimane-led team is ranked eight, just one position behind Cameroon.
Cote d'Ivoire still leads the pack in Africa, followed by Ghana, Algeria, Egypt and Senegal. Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Cape Verde Islands and Tunisia complete the top 10.
At the top of the world rankings, world champions Spain continue to lead the way, followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Uruguay and England.
Other countries making the top 10 are Brazil, Portugal, Croatia, Italy and Argentina.
The next FIFA World Rankings will be released on Wednesday, 15 February 2012.
