Pretoria - The first double-amputee sprinter to compete in the Olympic Games, Oscar Pistorius (25), missed out on the 400m final when he finished last in his semi-final in 46.54 seconds at the London 2012 Olympics on Sunday.
Pistorius finished second in his first-round heat in the men's 400m sprint, qualifying in the first of seven heats for last night's semi-finals.
However, the Blade Runner, as he is affectionately known, is still expected to run in the 4x400 relay starting on Thursday.
Pistorius will also participate in next month's Paralympics, the Olympic undercard where he had already collected four gold medals in 2004 and 2008 Olympics Games.
Meanwhile, Jamaican sprinter and four-time Olympic gold medallist, Usain Bolt, sealed his legacy when he won the men's 100m Olympic final in 9.63 seconds. His countryman Yohan Blake finished second in 9.75 seconds.
