Pretoria -Ticket holders for the Telkom Charity Cup have been assured of safe, reliable and efficient public transport on Saturday.
The Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system will be running additional buses for spectators going to the soccer match.
The Telkom Charity Cup, which will be played at Soccer City, is a South African football four-teams- one-day tournament for Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams and aims to raise funds for the needy.
In the first match at 10am, Orlando Pirates will play against Amazulu, while at noon Mamelodi Sundowns will lock horns with Kaizer Chiefs. The two finalists will meet at 5pm.
Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) responsible for Transport at the City of Johannesburg, Rehana Moosajee said they wanted to continue to offer spectators the world class service they rendered during the World Cup.
"We urge soccer lovers to use the Rea Vaya BRT for a safe and quick journey to and from the stadium," she said.
In addition to the usual services on Saturday, additional buses will leave from both Soweto and Johannesburg to Soccer City from 8am and buses will be available to take fans home after the match.
The Constitution Hill parking garage will also be open for fans to park their vehicles and walk to the Constitution Hill Rea Vaya station to catch a bus to the stadium for a return fare of R12.
Ticketholders are urged to note that from 8am to 10am a bus will depart every 15 minutes from both Thokoza Park and Ellis Park stations. Again from 10am to 4pm a bus will depart every 10 minutes from both these stations.
The last buses to Soccer City will depart from the above points to the stadium one hour before the final match's kickoff at 5pm.
After the finals, passengers going to Soweto and Constitution Hill should go to the Soccer City Rea Vaya station situated north of the stadium on the Soweto highway.
Passengers going to Johannesburg and Ellis Park should go to the Nasrec Rea Vaya station at the transport hub, south of the stadium.
