Pretoria - A call centre has been set up by the Department of Basic Education to deal with all public reports regarding any information of schools in Limpopo that have not received learning material.
Last week, the department announced that about 99% of textbooks had been delivered to Grade 10 learners in Limpopo, with all textbooks delivered to Grades 1, 2 and 3.
However, the department said it was concerned about reports that books may not have reached all schools in the province. It was also concerned about claims that progress reports being provided to the department, with regard to the delivery of these learning materials, may not be accurate.
"The department encourages anyone with information on such cases to phone 0800 202 933 between 08:30 and 16:00 on weekdays with all of the specific details."
The department has since appointed Mary Metcalfe to assist with the verification of the information with regard to the distribution of learning material to learners in Grades 1, 2, 3 and 10 in Limpopo.
