Pretoria - The South African Weather Services (SAWS) has warned of heavy rains in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, North West and in the Free State.
According SAWS forecaster Ezekiel Sebego, the rains will be accompanied by possible thunderstorms in places like the North West, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Free State.
"Very cold conditions are also expected in most parts of the country, especially in the Free State," Sebogo said.
According to Sebogo, Pretoria and Johannesburg will be characterized by cloudy conditions on Thursday, with widespread showers and thundershowers.
Sebego said snow was also expected in KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and in Lesotho.
"Light snow is also expected tomorrow in some parts of Gauteng, Northern Cape and Free State," Sebego said.
He told BuaNews that the weekend looks good, as there is no rain expected in most parts of the country.
Disaster Management teams are on high alert in most parts of the country for cases of flooding. In the Eastern Cape, a Disaster Management Centre has been established.
