Maingot who was addressing reporters at the daily FIFA/LOC briefing at Soccer City on Saturday said for FIFA, the safety of all players was of paramount importance.

LOC media relations manager, Jermaine Craig, said even though there was no physical threat to the English players, police are still viewing CCTV footage to determine how the fan managed to reach the change room.

Craig said the fan was escorted out of the team's changing room by LOC personnel. "We are going to beef up security at all our change rooms during match days. We will wait for the police to respond on the matter," he said.

English fans were left disappointed with their team's lackluster performance on Friday night. In their opening match, they drew 1-1 with the USA
