Pretoria - Four people were killed and 14 others injured in a bus accident along the N1 outside Bloemfontein in the Free State on Thursday, said paramedics.
The 50-seater bus was on its way to the Eastern Cape when the driver lost control of the bus and it rolled onto its side on the highway.
The driver of the bus told paramedics that a buck had run across the road and in attempting to avoid it, he swerved and the bus left the road.
"When he tried to bring the vehicle back under control, it overturned onto its side and slid for a few meters down the highway, coming to rest in the middle," said ER24's Vanessa Jackson of the incident that happened in the early hours of Thursday.
Most of the passengers in the bus were women and children. Four of the passengers were killed while 14 others, including the driver, sustained various injuries. - SAnews.gov.za
