The Ministry of Human Settlements has warned the public about various fake social media accounts claiming to be of Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi and Deputy Minister Pam Tshwete.
“These fake social accounts often spread scams, promote phony products and even share lies and misinformation,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry said the Deputy Minister does not have any social media accounts.
While Kubayi is active on social media, the Ministry implored the public to not fall victim to scammers and make use of the official Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

“Members of the public are urged to always be on the alert and report any suspicious social media accounts or platforms used to impersonate public representatives,” the Ministry said. – SAnews.gov.za
