Pretoria - Unit 2 of the Koeberg power station, which shut down automatically earlier this week, has returned to service, Eskom said on Thursday.
The automatic shutdown was triggered by a fault in an instrumentation system monitoring the temperature of a motor.
The shutdown happened on Monday, with Unit 1 not being affected.
"The fault was rectified and the unit returned to service last night [Thursday]. Both Koeberg units are operating at full power," said the parastatal.
There was no interruption of electricity supply as a result of the shutdown of Koeberg Unit 2.
"We continue to urge all South Africans to use electricity efficiently," said Eskom. - BuaNews
