Pretoria - The last batch of South Africans, who had been stranded in Libya during the recent unrest in that country, arrived in the country last night.
International Relations and Cooperation Deputy Minister Marius Fransman welcomed them at the Waterkloof Airport.
According to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, government is ready to assist any other citizens wishing to return home. "If there are South Africans still in Libya who want to come back home, government will do everything in its power to assist them," it said.
The South African Government on Thursday sent an aircraft to Libya to evacuate trapped in that country.
This after the situation in Libya deteriorated to the extent that an evacuation of non-essential staff and dependents from the mission in Tripoli had become inevitable.
